A separate room for the working day
AlpeanGlow
Aladin’s apartment layout provides a useful starting point for a longer St. Moritz stay, with the working setup still to test.
The future of a familiar lakeside address is in discussion. Südostschweiz’s 13 October report on the sale of Lej da Staz says in its accessible introduction that the new owners favour continuity, while arrangements for summer operation remain under negotiation. That leaves a sensible distinction for visitors: enjoying the landscape need not mean organising every meal around one establishment.
At Hotel Stille & Aladin Apartments, our selection is the 2.5-room apartment at Via Surpunt 62. Its separate bedroom and living room, oven, dishwasher and fridge support a more independent week. The operator lists free Wi-Fi and a balcony. St. Moritz Tourism places the property at the edge of the Stazer forest and identifies bus 609 for the station connection.
The layout matters more than the number of beds. The bedroom contains three singles and the living room a double sofa bed. Filling every sleeping place would also turn the daytime room into someone’s bedroom. For one working traveller or a couple, keeping that room free is the stronger proposition. Compared with the same operator’s studio format, separation is the point of paying for the apartment.
It remains a stay to test for work. Neither a measured connection speed nor an ergonomic desk setup has been established. Ask for a photograph of the table and chair, a connection test and the cleaning arrangement for the proposed length of stay. The operator says routine room service is not included in apartments.
Request a dated total including visitor tax and any parking. The operator’s apartment page gives conflicting parking figures, so this issue does not quote one.
