Choosing the room at Chesa Marchetta
AlpeanGlow
In Sils Maria, the appeal of a small house depends on selecting enough room to linger.
Chesa Marchetta’s autumn five-for-four offer gives a practical reason to consider a longer stay in Sils Maria: five nights for the price of four, with breakfast. The offer must be selected in the booking window and is subject to availability. The hotel lists its summer season through 1 November. Meanwhile, Furtschellas’s published summer operating period ends on 16 October, a useful distinction when planning how those days will be spent.
The 13-bedroom house, with interiors by Luis Laplace, asks for a more precise room decision than its scale might suggest. Our selection is the Deluxe category: an antique desk, reading chair, bathtub and separate shower give it a domestic rhythm. The hotel’s room guide places it at 23–26 square metres, compared with 14–16 for Classic rooms. Those extra metres matter more over five nights than they do on an overnight stop.
The attic two-bedroom suite offers a different compromise. It gives a small household separate sleeping rooms, but its private staircase sits beyond the lift’s reach. Deluxe is the more straightforward starting point for two people who want somewhere to read between outings; the suite answers a need for separation rather than simply a higher room label.
Ask for the exact room and floor before booking, especially if stairs matter. Compare the package total with the ordinary rate for the same category and dates; a free fifth night does not establish the cheapest stay.
