Two houses, different degrees of retreat

Heimeli Maiensäss, Sapün

The important distinction at Heimeli is between a room in the mountain inn and the separate Maiensäss. The latter accommodates two adults, has a three-night minimum and does not accept dogs. Its three terraces and hotel service make it a particular proposition for a couple who want their own small retreat without treating it as an entirely unsupported hut.

Sapün lies above Langwies in the municipality of Arosa. The access instructions describe a summer walk of about an hour and a half from the Langwies parking area, or a drive requiring a road permit arranged before ascending; parking at the inn is limited. Winter access changes with the prepared snow route and should be arranged directly. The operator lists its summer season through 1 November and warns that internet access is very slow and unreliable. That warning is decisive if the escape still contains a working day.

Meisser Chalet, Bos-cha

Meisser’s detached chalet is a different scale: the operator gives 200 sq m for two to four people, with a large garden in Bos-cha. Do not confuse it with the separate apartments on the same accommodation page. Its appeal on paper is the combination of a whole house, outdoor space and a small party, rather than an assumption that every advertised apartment facility applies to it.

This returning selection also warrants a route check. A RhB notice published by Scuol schedules night works between Guarda and Scuol-Tarasp for the nights of 21/22 to 23/24 September, subject to working conditions. That does not establish noise at the chalet or a daytime service cancellation. It is a reason to check the journey for a specific arrival, not to describe Bos-cha as disrupted.
